I have been experiencing bad pain from my left shoulder to my neck for a few years now. It is usually worst from the base of my skull to the base of my nexk on the left side, restricting my head movement. As well, my left shoulder joint hurts and feels loose, espesciall when I am exercising it. I am a competitive rugby player, and have played a variety of contact sports, and have injured my neck and shoulders before on many occasions, though I have not sought treatment (typical bonehead teenager decision). I worry that I may have partially separated my shoulder at some point, and that that is what is causing my pains. Also, I have some narrow disks in my spine, and am usually plagued with lower back pain. What can I do to lessen or alleviate my shoulder and neck pain? Thanks
okay i’m 14 years old and 4 years ago i had to carry a backpack home that wayed 10 lbs everyday..well anyway it curved my spine about .5 degrees. Well my physical was today and it’s now at 6 degrees, probably due to poor posture (i just didn’t think it’d get that bad) so i’m going into highschool and i really don’t want to wear a brace or go through surgery. Is their any exercises i can do? anything at all??? please please help me! thanks.
i am going to get it checked out but i was wondering do you think a brace wold help to fix the curveture and make the indentation go away? I have like knots that can be painful in my shoulders do you think that the curveture in my spine is what causes that? Thanks in advance for your help!
I’m 15 years old and I have had chronic pain in my back, neck, shoulder blade and spine for about a year and a half. Two years ago, I had a stress fracture in my low back and I had to wear a brace and stuff, but the doctor said it healed.
During the time my back was healing, my neck and upper back began having pain. I’ve never been in a car accident, had whiplash, anything. The pain just came on. I had an MRI for my neck about a year ago, but maybe something’s changed. The doctors don’t know what’s wrong.
I go to a chiropractor and have been going for a couple of months, but it is not helping AT ALL.
Also, my back has been hurting even more than usual for the last 2 weeks, and when I woke up today, my neck and back have this sharp pain that I’ve never had before.
My mom scheduled an appt for another doctor, but it’s not until the end of this month, and I don’t think I can start school feeling horrible.
It seems like I’m too young to be having this pain. It is literally wearing me out. I have no energy and I don’t want to leave the house or do anything because of my pain.
I went to the back specialist to test for scoliosis, I don’t have it, but he did say I had a slight curve to my posture and said that if I slouch any more I could be going down the road of osteoporosis, I try to stand straight but I’m not used to it… I have back pain within minutes, same goes if I stand or walk for a continuous amount of time. I just can’t get myself to stand straight, let alone with the back pain, I have to stay like this until my spine straightens during growth. And I’m NOT wearing a back brace!
What should I do, and how to deal with the pain
what r good ways to improve posture with out just standing up striaght,or physical therapist excersises (been there done that).
I suposedly had scoliosis at 13 but i went to a specail place and they x-rayed my whole body and i was fine. The curvature is soooooooooo small its like nothing.
Now i am 21 and ppl keep telling me to stand up straight and this and that! I can’t help but hunch .
My back has been hurting a lot lately and i don’t know wat to do. Its like if i can’t stand up straight on my own..at 13 i thought i would get a brace but i didn’t need one according to the doctor. I feel like i may need one now.
My back always hurt in the lower area, now its higher up and my spine is like verrryyy slightly tan colored, like an imprint. But doc, back in the day, said it was normal and that my back only hurt cuz i was skinny and not much meat.
I am still skinny to this day, but i can’t stand striaght on my own for long , cuz then i forget… . I also feel depressed or down,
quite a bit but i don’t know if its depression. Basically i don’t know if this could aso be causing pain.
I don’t have pain 24/7 but i have at least a lil’ everyday,.
help and opinions plz!!!!!!!!!!
Over the summer I hurt my back water tubing. I hit a big wake flew up like 15 feet and came crashing down on the inner tube. My back and neck cracked all the way up and it hurt for a little bit but never really bothered me. Recently I started noticing that my back has large curve in it and when I feel my spine it feels like some of the vertebrae are smashed together and next to eachother, or at least just not alligned properly. I can’t stand with straight posture either. Also my back’s been hurting me and has little to no flexibility.
How would doctors treat this? Back brace, types of back surgery, etc? Please give a good description and if you’ve had a similar experience I’d love to hear your story. Thanks.
i’m 17 and have a bad back, well not bad…it’s just not good. every few months i get my back popped back in at the chiropractor. well not every few months, i havent went for a while because it hurts so bad when he does it. he said my spine gets kind of straightened so that my lungs cant fully expand so it makes it harder for me to breathe. he says it has to do with growing and posture, but i cant physically make myself sit up straight so should i get some kind of brace after i get it adjusted again?
