recommend a posture corrective brace?

So here’s my story, if you can, please recommend either a specific brace or a type that I should look into

I have pretty bad(7-8/10) lower back pain, and mild(5-6/10) pain in the rest of my back(mostly just spine, although it’s more to the right side in my lower back)….and I saw an urgent care doctor since it was still open when I got off work and no regular doctors seem to have openings anyways.
They prescribed me ultram(which I couldn’t take due to drug interactions), then changed it to vicodin(5/500) and ibuprofen(800mg), that wasn’t enough so they moved me up to Norco(10/325), when I said that wasn’t enough they moved me down to tylenol #3…
they said that’s the highest they can prescribe, and like I said no other doctors have openings for at least a month

went to a physical therapist and did their exercises for a while with no improvement, so I stopped.

then I went to a chiropractor and he took x-rays and said I have mild scoliosis, my head is pushed forward too much and my shoulders are pushed back, I have subluxation throughout my back in various places, the bottom curve of my back is too extreme, while the curve in my neck is non existent.

please help me, I need any ideas of how to make the pain stop
I can’t afford the ER for a prescription, and I’m hoping a brace will not only fix my posture, but relieve me of the pain

      Body making me self conscious? Or is it just me?

      Hi, I’m a 14 year old girl. I’m about 154 cm (5"1′ – sorry, not used to feet and inches) so I’m already undersized, despite the fact that while my mother is barely taller than me, my father towers over everyone. I’m also fairly skinny but my stomach is abnormally large; I also have very small breasts, and maybe that’s not such a concern because I’m still young, but it also affects how I view myself. I have mild scoliosis which does not require surgery or a brace but the S-curve makes my stomach and butt stick out significantly. So, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to rectify my posture or my stomach, or to encourage my body to grow taller? Because I’m very uncomfortable in my own skin, especialy because of peer influence. Unless this self-consciousness is just psychological?

        Ways to deal with body braces?

        I have recently been prescribed a special brace to deal with my condition. I have been diagnosed as having a rare form of aggresive idiopathic scoliosis and the brace i have to wear covers my head, face, neck, body, arms and legs. There are hinges at the knee, hips and shoulders but it is still really uncomfortable and going outside is really embarressing. I wear this thing for 7 days straight and i go to the hospital to take it off and have a shower. I am having real trouble dealing with it and have become really scared to go out as everyonelooks at me.

        Please help with some advice as i am at my wits end

          Is a hard back brace any good?

          I had surgery for a herniated disc (L4-L5) a year or so ago. I also have borderline medium Idiopathic scoliosis. Not to mention I have the worst posture on this planet. I feel like a hard back brace may be nice. My back aches a lot, and gets tired easily, even after year+ of physical therapy. Would a hard back brace be an option? would it help? (I know you’re not my doctor but I still want your input). Is it something to ask my doctor or am I way off?

          I’m kinda on the tallish side (5’6ish) and I am in high school.
          Also I understand a brace could be a pain and inconvenient to wear but I don’t mind. I kinda see it as a protective shell almost.

            What should a person do for mild scoliosis?

            I have been diagnosed with mild scoliosis a few days ago. My curve isn’t big but I have read that I should get braced immidiately to keep it from getting worse. I am thirteen years old and I am afraid that this will get worse. I am working on my posture and I am avoiding carrying heavy stuff, but I am scared out of my mind.
            Please help!
            Should I get braced even though my doctor says that probably nothing will happen?

            P.S. Does a person get back braces from pharmacies or is that not possible at all?

              I’m 14 years old(i look 10 or 11 years old though..loll) and have scoliosis?and yoga?

              Does anyone know how to decrease it?My scoliosis isn’t that bad, I dont have to wear a brace or anything(i’m still growing)?But does anyone know any ways to make it better?
              Also I might be taking yoga/tai chi. But since I have scoliosis will it be harder for me?I am now flexible either.Can i still take it?
              I’m hoping yoga will improve my posture and strength.Because my parents dont let me go outside unless I’m with them(afriad i might get kidnapped or something), so i wanna take something indoors,but i digress.Well,Thanks in advance for answering my question!

                What will help my Scoliosis?

                I’m 14 years old and my Scoliosis was just found, it went untreated my whole life because it was unknown. i now have an "S" curve. My Thoracic curve is 32 degrees and my lumbar curve is 28 degrees. it is too late to brace it because i am pretty much done growing. my back hurts constantly, mostly in the Lumbar region. My doctor said to just straighten my posture and it will stop hurting, but i have a hard time believing that. I have been treating my back with a heating pad, because i don’t know what else to do.

                  Terrible shoulder pain for over 2 years now?

                  It’s right in the front of my shoulder. I started developing it in January of 2009, when I lived in Australia. The doc there sent me for scans and an ultrasound and saw nothing. So she did nothing.

                  I ignored it for nearly 2 years and just dealt with it, because I also have slight scoliosis and patella femoral syndrome (have had that for nearly 10 years). I’ve been to see my family doc in the last few months, who performed scans and ultrasounds again on my shoulder (and scans on my knees and back). He also says everything came back normal (aside from my back).

                  He said it might be tendonitis. But he didn’t do anything to check and see if that’s what it is, I don’t know what the protocol is for that. It’s worse in my right shoulder than the left, but I do have it sometimes in the left. It’s really bad at night time, and if I don’t take one of my Celebrex pills before bed, then the pain in the morning is excruciating.

                  It feels like the pain is deep inside my shoulder and radiating to the surface. I can feel it more towards the front though. I’ve never injured myself, no falls or anything like that, so I have no idea what’s wrong.

                  Does anyone have any other ideas as to what it may be, and how to fix it? I’m tired of spending my life in pain. It’s hard enough to live with it, but I have a 5 month old son and I have a hard time getting things done due to the pain.
                  ~It is not due to my back.
                  ~When I say "scans", I’m referring to xrays. I didn’t realize I had to specify, as there are no other "scans" that I know of.
                  ~What are these other treatment options?

                    My left shoulder always hurts. Its not really the top of my shoulder but my shoulder blade… I have scoliosis is that why it always hurts? its been like this ever since last year but i found out i had scoliosis only a couple weeks ago… well do you know any home remedies to help?

                    also: i have an appointment with a bone specialist soon about my scoliosis…i have 20 degree scoliosis so what do you think he’ll do? just leave it or will i have to wear a brace? o.o
