About 5 months I developed a really stiff and sore neck. Above my left clavicle I could feel a hard lump thing I assumed was a swollen lymph node. I could not sleep on my left side or use my left arm because the pain was so intense and it also raised my left shoulder muscle up so high it was extremely noticeable. I went to the doctor multiple times and was told I had things from a sinus infection, ear infection and then to simply nothing at all. As the months went by I started to develop lymph nodes on the left side of my neck (right under my ear, 2 more in front of my glands, and one that goes down the SCM (sternocleidomastoid muscle). The symptoms seemed to go away after a few weeks, and many failed attempts with antibiotics but have recently returned but not as severe. Now I have aches and pains all over.
I’ll list them off..
Muscle spasms and twitches in the muscle running down the left side of my neck.
Left elbow pain which sometimes switches to the right side.
Right middle thigh pain that feels like a stab. (It feels like a really deep bruise but there is no apparently swelling or bruising. The pain is also 1/3 down inner thigh)
Left and sometimes Right arm pain and weakness. (I can’t even open heavy doors now without using both arms.
Pain on my first rib on the left side. Hard to explain but that side of my chest gets very hot and has a dull achy feel to it.
I can’t think of any more at the moment but overall I feel like I am way too young to be feeling this way (I’m 17 years old …)
I’ve googled the heck out of all my symptoms and always think I am close to finding out what could be wrong but I really can’t be sure. Not even the doctors that have seen me can find anything wrong, but I’ve got a gut feeling that something is and it needs to be taken care of.
I have also had a horrible cough that has lasted for MONTHS with no alarming phlegm. I do smoke but smoking does not seem to irritate anything that’s been going on with me.
I was wondering if anybody out there has had any symptoms like me and if they ever found out what was wrong with them, please tell me
My latest google search said lymphoma, and I’d rather not develop anxiety from internet searches.
i woke up three days ago and noticed that whenever i move my neck to the right, the frontish part of my left shoulder hurts (stinging/burning feeling) alot. any ideas what it could be?
A few months ago i partially tore my left shoulder while lifting weights at the gym. I would feel the most pain towards the front of my shoulder. Most of the pain is now gone unless i roll my shoulder or try to lift heavy weights.
Would training with very light weights help to speed up the healing process? Any suggestions are appreciated.
I have been experiencing bad pain from my left shoulder to my neck for a few years now. It is usually worst from the base of my skull to the base of my nexk on the left side, restricting my head movement. As well, my left shoulder joint hurts and feels loose, espesciall when I am exercising it. I am a competitive rugby player, and have played a variety of contact sports, and have injured my neck and shoulders before on many occasions, though I have not sought treatment (typical bonehead teenager decision). I worry that I may have partially separated my shoulder at some point, and that that is what is causing my pains. Also, I have some narrow disks in my spine, and am usually plagued with lower back pain. What can I do to lessen or alleviate my shoulder and neck pain? Thanks
So just today I got a pain in my left shoulder. I think it hurts more in the front. As today progressed it hurt more, I haven’t fallen on it in anyway and I have not had any previous injuries towards it. I am a dancer, and I have been dancing a lot for the past two days, but I don’t know how that could affect my shoulder. Did i tear something? It hurts to move it in certain ways, examples: I cannot bring it that high in front of me, not to high to the side of my body and to the back, and then it hurts to bring it back down. Can someone help me? What is this?
The other day I was playing softball and stupidly tripped and fell while running and throwing the ball. I landed on my left shoulder/neck/left side of my head. At the time I had the wind knocked out of me, and for the rest of the night felt a pain in my shoulder. The pain feels like it is in my left collar bone. I do not think it is broken, as I can still move my arm.
When sitting I feel a slight pain. It is painful to lift my arm over my head, pull my arm towards my body and bring my arm up in a throwing motion, hanging my arm down.. Also, sitting in various positions hurt.
I have been taking advil and trying to keep any strain off my shoulder. Does anyone have any suggestions as to treatment?
I just found out that I am pregnant (yay!!), and overall I feel absolutely fantastic – I have energy and I am very excited. I have, however, been feeling a dull and nagging pain in my left shoulder that radiates down into my arm – this has been going on (off and on) since this morning. It’s not horrible, but I can feel it.
Does anyone know if this is pregnancy related, or maybe I slept wrong? Or maybe I’m sitting in an uncomfortable chair, etc? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I just want to be safe. I don’t have a doctors appointment until Wednesday next week and I am nervous.
I was swinging a bat the other night at baseball and my left shoulder slipped out of the socket and slipped back in. It made a nice ripping sound, but thankfully went back in.
Its called a subluxation, it happened once before the same way, but swinging 2 bats.
Is there a brace of some sort I can get to keep it in its socket or something?
Alright well the pain is in the top right of my left shoulder blade and it goes away and comes back every so often. It’s been happening for roughly 3 years and the pain is like muscle pain but then it’ll get completely numb and the pain can last for about a week at a time. I’ve tried putting a cold bean bag over it and a warm one but neither worked. Could it be some kind of nerve damage? I do tend to slouch a bit sometimes..Anyways, I just want to know what could be causing it and what I could do to prevent it.
no it doesn’t sound like either of those..its not really like the joint its i guess the trapezius like on the top of the shoulder blade and i don’t feel it all the time. It kind of..i dunno flares up with some activities? i was moving heavy boxes when moving and that made it hurt for the week and it sometimes acts up randomly when leaning over the desk for a while in classes and in labs..i do think it’s some kind of nerve damage so i guess i’ll look into that..
I am a 19 year old male who is very active in basketball. I work out 6 days a week. 2-3hr daily. I have had problems with both my shoulders. About 2 years ago i really hurt my left shoulder the doctor told me it might be a rotator cuff tear he said i should lower my weight and up my repps but i never really did anything about just didn’t work out for like a year. So i’ve been working out for about 6 months since that year. My right shoulder started hurting almost the same feeling as my left back than. So i bought a brace which made it feel a lil better. It was only sore. I was doing a few push ups after my work out i did 20 and tryed to get up as soon as i took pesure off my right arm it totally gave out. Super super painful like i couldn’t get up for 15-20min. Finally i got up with lots of pain. I iced it and took ibuprofen. I got xrays today but they didn’t show much. Doc said maybe tendinitis. What do you think? Any info will help please
