Please be patient and read, because I need some question answered…
I’ve never been an attractive dude up until recently. I used to have bad acne, bad posture, bad teeth, and have been pretty skinny. Now as I’m 19 I’ve been working out to the point where I’m pretty buff, I’ve improved my posture a lot, and my acne is almost gone, my facial structure has changed slightly (a more defined jaw line, more pronounced cheeks, and a big Adams apple) I’ve also had braces on for some time that are going to be removed soon, so currently I have straight teeth, albeit with braces.
Up until recently I’ve never been good with women at all. But lately I’ve been having girls stare at me, and I don’t believe it’s in the bad way where a person is looking at you… but not quite AT you. I’ve always been pretty coy, and socially inept when talking or looking at girls. The little times in the past that I did try to gaze at women or look back they’d either look away quickly, or do the roll-their-eyes routine. But now as I’m 19 I find that girls are actually looking AT me… in a good way, I think. I’ve been put in situations where I find a girl staring at me from across the room, in the car, or through some window. But unlike times before they don’t look away and they or we have our eyes locked on each other, and I get a rush of adrenaline. It’s all new to me so I don’t know how I should react. It’s been happening A LOT lately, so I’m dumbfounded on what to do. Should I smile, should they be smiling, should I look away, should I hold the gaze, and why are they looking at me in the first place? Etc. etc. . Some times the girls smile back at me and I smile back which I’m pretty sure is a good thing, but I still don’t know for certain.
I also have reason to believe I might be becoming handsome. I was driving through a sonic and two girls that were in the sonic handling orders and returning and taking money were giggling when it was time to pay. I looked up at them, and one of them smiled and said, "she thinks your cute", and looked toward the other employee. I never had anyone tell me that outright before, so I wasn’t sure if they were just fucking with me, or if the girl genuinely thought I was cute (they could have been just teasing). So I kind of looked up with a blank expression and didn’t know what to say. Relatives, and people have also said I’m starting to look like my older brother who always was the studly attractive one.
Now, I don’t believe this is a case of Quazi Moto turning in to Brad Pitt. But I do believe I might be getting my game on. So…
Guys: What is it, or what does it mean to you when you lock a gaze with a girl.
And
Girls: What does it mean when you gaze at a guy, or a guy gazes at you and you lock a gaze with that person?
Now that I’m pretty sure I have TMJ in my right jaw.. which has been the cause of a persistant pain for about 2 or 3 years now (I’m just 18). I have a question. My facial features are pretty asymettric. My bite is uneven which I think causes my entire jaw to be sort of lopsided. I blame this on bad posture from using a computer every day for hours on end. I also had braces, though. And even they didn’t make my bite even. So I’m wondering, does TMJ get caused by bad posture or some genetic defect? It would be nice to correct my bite and get rid of the pain.
So I want to know if there are ways to deal with low self-esteem or even a way to conquer it. I recently found out that I exhibit all the signs of low self-esteem and with school coming back I don’t know how I’m going deal with it while being around people constantly.
People tell me I’m pretty, beautiful, cute hot all the time. They say I have a great body blah blah blah but somehow it’s like deep down inside I’m so paranoid that everyone is lying to me. I have a lot of friends and they’re all great but I don’t think I could talk to anyone about what I’m going through. I put on this confident exterior so that no one can find out how I really am on the inside.
I have what people call "the ugly duckling syndrome" where when I was a child, I was very tom boyish, horrible haircut, braces, acne, a little overweight and bad posture. Since then, I’ve grown into my nose, lost a lot of weight after my growth spurt, all the baby fat from my face was gone, my acne cleared, I had straight teeth and my hair is not as unruly as before.
I do realize I’m a lot better looking than before and I’d never want to relive that period of time in my life but I still feel the need to be perfect, you know?
I know people should like me for my personality and my morals but I have this idea that if I were perfect, everyone would like me and my life would be better and I’d be happier.
I don’t understand why I’m the way I am.
How did I develop this hatred and disapproval of myself?
I have a vague idea that this sprouted during my childhood with all the awkwardness previously mentioned but I think it’s also because my parents used to compare me a lot to other people’s children and that made me jealous, afraid of competition and self-concious.
Can someone please help?
I’d really like to get better and stop hating myself and hating other people because I’m jealous of the,.
I really really would like to get better. Thank you.
And please, no jokes. I’m really just looking for advice. Thank you.
About 2 months ago I went to the doctors for my back I had been having pain for a few years and finally decided to do something about it. At first they said I had bad posture and they would reffer me to a specialist.
The specialist said it was because I sit with a slump and its all muscular and would be easily corrected with physio therapy, but she sent me for an x-ray to eliminate the small possibility of curvature in the spine.
Today I went back to the specialist to talk about my results n I had something called Scheuermann’s disease…..
She was talking about physio for 6 months but if that dosent work I may need a brace on my back!!!! Or even an operation!!!!!!!
Can someone shed some light on this for me?? Im sick with worry & im only 15 btw :’(
SpiderMed 2-nd II Generation – Eliminator of bad posture – shoulders and waist SpiderMed II Generation is an upgraded version of the first Generation of SpiderMed. Just like its predecessor, SpiderMed II helps prevent and eliminate slouching. In addition, it corrects protruding abdomen (especially important for women! ) and shoulder asymmetry which often are caused by carrying heavy backpacks or bags on one shoulder. This new product enables simultaneous correction of 3 types of postural deviations or, alternatively, concentration on dealing with only one. SpiderMed II is intended for use by children, adolescents and adults — for the whole family. You can use SpiderMed to suit your individual needs without making sacrifices or engaging in a strenuous or complicated exercise routine. SpiderMed II can be worn only 2-3 times per day for about 15 minutes, while watching TV, working on the computer, writing, etc. The acoustic signal is initiated when the abdomen misaligns with the shoulders / shoulder blades. The signal stimulates the appropriate muscle groups to correct poor posture alignment. SpiderMed aids in developing good postural habits in a natural way by strengthening appropriate muscles. SpiderMed is powered by 2 watch-type batteries, which typically do not need replacement during product lifetime as the sound signal is not activated for most of the time. SpiderMed may be used by people of all body types: lean and stocky, short and tall. All components are fully …
i went to an orthopedist and he told me i have scoliosis and it is at a 13 degree curve…both sides of my family have a history of scoliosis…he told me there was nothing i can do for it and the only reason the curve is visible is because im so skinny…
but im not sure exactly how many degrees bad scoliosis is and i asked him if i could wear a brace and he said it wouldnt do anything…so im wondering if there is anything i can do for this such as good posture or something…
im not done growing yet but im progressing pretty slowly…im in a slow growth spurt and all my plates are still open…i grow about 2 inches every year…anyway is 13 degrees bad and is there anything i can do from it worsening???
he also said my wingbones are offset…my left one is higher then my right…
and last thing: is scoliosis strictly genetic or can it be caused by bad posture and sitting in wierd positions?
I had really bad posture. It’s still not great because my breasts are DDs and even though I’m tall (5’8), I’m only about 125 pounds and small frame (my waist is 20 inches). I work out and am pretty fit but I guess my body’s just not made to support that kind of weight. I don’t want a reduction because it’s dangerous surgery. So though I have gotten my posture better, it’s still not perfect which causes my neck to look a lot shorter than it is because I slump. There’s really no way to make me stand up all the way. Even a back brace won’t do it 100%. So is there any way to elongate my neck by an inch or two? It’s probably average length. I’ve seen devices but I’m not sure which ones work. Can someone give me a way to help me elongate my neck please? Thanks. Also if you’re gonna call me stupid, give your own opinion, say it’s dangerous, tell me to love myself, or do anything that does not directly answer my question, don’t bother posting. Do not give me clothing tips, hair tips or anything like that which give the "illusion" a long neck. I want something permanent.
on top of my scoliosis for which i wore a back brace for a year or so during my early teens, I now have a desk job and bad posture when I work with my laptop at home… I’ve been havng back and neck pain and suspect its related to scoliosis. My doc said my scoliosis was so reduced due to the brace that I could forget about it. but I was getting a massage recently and the massage therapist noticed it along my back AND neck! Please tell me what exercises work… AND is chiropractic care recommended? I just went to talk to one… thanks!
