im 15 and for about a year, ive head shoulder/back pain, and i’ve also had feelings of anxiety and depression. i haven’t gotten treatment for either, because i thought my back pain was just from carrying a backpack around school, but my back pain and feelings of depression carried on through the summer.
everyone is telling me that i should get my depression treated and my back will feel better. im going to the doctor in a few weeks for a normal check up, and im going to ask him to check out my shoulder pain, and i wanted to know if he’d know exactly whats causing my back pain, and if it is because of depression, if he would know that?

      thanks

I’m 16 years old and been having really bad back pain for about a few months now. I’m in special ed and have never been diagnosed with anything else besides elhers danlos syndrome or something, week muscle tone and just the basic symptoms of that. I have a learning disability, but anyway, about a year ago I saw an orthopedic about my back, they did exrays and it showed a slight curve but nothing huge, they call it kyphosis? or something. Well Starting a few months ago I got extremely bad pain and just hurts doing anything, walking a lot, bending, sitting in one position a long time, standing a long time. It’s torture..well I saw the orthopedic again, the curve has stayed the same not gotten worse, my growth plates they say are closed pretty much. If I were to grow more the curve could change but I’m not. They don’t wanna suggest surgery yet. They think trying everything else first is best. So Ive just recently started Physical therapy. My prob is my posture, I’ve sat so long curved over that my back is so tight and their having trouble loosing it… That’s why I’m getting this pain. I’ll constantly text my mom from school hurting, or end up in tears from pain. But they didn’t recommend pain med, that wont work, If something was inflamed then maybe that would work. But My mom gave me med, she’s a nurse, but that still didn’t help. The physical therapist is working with me and giving me these types of exercises to work on. 2 to 3 times per day. Hopefully it will help. But this pain is sucky.. They also suggested that I could possibly need a customized chair. What hurts miserably is when I’m in school. Each class 90 minutes, you sit. The chairs are horrible. Instead of focusing on work I’m thinking about how much I’m hurting. I wear this lumbar support brace at the moment, but it’s not helping much. It sorta Velcro’s around, not too great. But I was wondering what they mean by a customized chair.. to use at home and school…like wheel in it? or .. push.. don’t know if it’s portable… not sure what they meant by it. Not a wheelchair.. so I’m wondering what a customized chair is.. anyone know? and if pt doesn’t help withen 6 weeks or such we’ll get an Mri done and make sure there’s nothing more causing this pain. Surgery could be an option in the long run, but they wanna try everything before suggesting that.It would be great to hear some feedback on this. I’m having trouble with pain and it’s really bugging me. Thanks

SpiderMed 2-nd II Generation – Eliminator of bad posture – shoulders and waist SpiderMed II Generation is an upgraded version of the first Generation of SpiderMed. Just like its predecessor, SpiderMed II helps prevent and eliminate slouching. In addition, it corrects protruding abdomen (especially important for women! ) and shoulder asymmetry which often are caused by carrying heavy backpacks or bags on one shoulder. This new product enables simultaneous correction of 3 types of postural deviations or, alternatively, concentration on dealing with only one. SpiderMed II is intended for use by children, adolescents and adults — for the whole family. You can use SpiderMed to suit your individual needs without making sacrifices or engaging in a strenuous or complicated exercise routine. SpiderMed II can be worn only 2-3 times per day for about 15 minutes, while watching TV, working on the computer, writing, etc. The acoustic signal is initiated when the abdomen misaligns with the shoulders / shoulder blades. The signal stimulates the appropriate muscle groups to correct poor posture alignment. SpiderMed aids in developing good postural habits in a natural way by strengthening appropriate muscles. SpiderMed is powered by 2 watch-type batteries, which typically do not need replacement during product lifetime as the sound signal is not activated for most of the time. SpiderMed may be used by people of all body types: lean and stocky, short and tall. All components are fully

I have vagina discomfort as explained in title/question and the nurse at my Gyn.’s office advised me to get Monistat 7, after explaining to her that it could possibly be a yeast infection… she advised, like I said, to get the Monistat 7-day treatment… before use I wanted to read the box, the directions, etc… the box reads under warnings that you should ask your doctor for use if this is your first time experiencing such discomforts .. further down it said to also ask your doctor for using this product if you have SHOULDER/BACK PAIN, that it could be a SERIOUS PROBLEM… so what’s the problem??
I definately have shoulder pain and I’ll admit that I woke up with it around the same time (yesterday morning, which was day three of vaginal discomf.) I experienced the vaginal discomfort… I can’t find the problem anywhere on the net .. and I already bought this stuff (opened the box, but not the "equipment"), and it’s what the nurse advised (I dislike her right now..)

              Please help

Alright, about 3 months ago I started to get really bad back pain, went to see an orthopedic and he did a xray. I saw him back awhile ago as well when they noticed the slight curve in my spine. It being called kyphosis. They said that it probably wouldn’t get worse if I wasn’t growing anymore. So he just told me to try physical therapy for 6 weeks and get a lumbar support thing. So we followed through and got the lumbar support. It wasn’t giving any support and my back was still hurting. A little after I saw him, my back became more hunched over. Before, I could stand pretty much straight, but now I’m really far hunched over. It got worse.. my posture. And my pain was horrible walking around, standing, sitting. My backs been locked in this bent over position with pain that I can’t get out of. In physical therapy, the purpose was to try to help loosen my back and put me back into a straighter position with less pain. I got all these exercises to work on, which I had to do 3 times a day. I did do that.. then we met with a bracing guy, and I got a brace to use. The brace was simply to see if it helped with pain control, wasn’t going to straighten my back. With the brace on, my pain control is down a tad bit, but hardly. I’m still getting bad pain. It keeps me up straight though, and I’m not all bent over. But anywho, did Physical therapy, as well as swim therapy. They wont continue the therapy, you get 6 weeks or whatever. I did it for that long, including swim therapy. My back still is in the same position with the same amount of pain. So now we got to take the next step. Were meeting with someone on the 23rd who diagnosed me with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome a couple years ago. Were wondering if my back being bent like this has anything to do with the syndrome. And if the person has an idea of what we should do next. I’m wondering if surgery would be the way to go. It’s a possibility, and it might actually be a good thing to get done. I mean what else is there to do? we also need to meet back with the Orthopedic guy, he’ll probably order an mri or something next I don’t know? it’s just so frustrating and I hate this.:( Do you think Surgery is the way to go? or what?

well i have a 51 degree curve of scoliosis on my upper back. well recently i felt a lump near my shoulder blade and its soo sore! if i press it is hurts! i dont know what it is. i just found it 2 or 3 days ago! what could it be? what do i do???

also my doc. said that i would prob. have to keep on checking my scoliosis to see if it progresses or not. i mean i have no back pain, &&it doesnt affect my breathing and i wear a boston back brace right now from 4 pm – 7 am every day. my doc. told me that even if the brace works it could still get worse when im older. so we are really confused on what to do. are there any other alternitives than surgery!? has any1 been through the surgery b4? thanks everyone.

I need help with understanding "scoliosis"?

I did that bend down/spine check thing at my doctor’s. She said there was a slight curve in my spine and that I MAY have scoliosis.
I’ve been reading up on this, and apparently this includes uneven posture and back ache.
However, I do NOT feel any back pain.. AT ALL. But I do have a curve, regardless of how small/noticeable it is.

Is my case severe enough for potential bracing?
                    Thanks!
